12/7/2023 0 Comments Sickspeed harness![]() I've seen them over heat cars so I wouldn't want to take any length drive on them. I'd tape them if you have to leave them in and inspection immediately. Crossing my fingers nothing else shows up. ![]() First step though, is new bulbs for the side blinkers, as the yellow ones now there won't make consistent contact and stay lit when powered.Īfter this I get to replace the shrieking clutch pilot bearing. Why I was hoping someone had fought these junk bling mods to some sort of resolution and had the parts and connections still in mind. I may have a good OEM right side light one in storage, possibly both, which means high risk lifting for my back to search. When the rain stops, I hope to swap in the good left front light from my '92, IF I can find my bag of removeable disconnect pairs. What matters most is how to get the car through local safety check ASAP. Since I rarely see 4000RPM on public roads, unless passing, this is largely irrelevant. The hilarious issue: ducting this, or any other TSI I've seen on the market, dramatically cuts HP at appreciable intake flow rates, as cross sectional area is far below the smallest other element of the intake system, the AFM or MAF. Obviously most Miata cooling systems are able to handle the abuse. The issue of rank amateur TSIs (ALL retail) reducing pressure drop across the radiator has been discussed at length, numerous times. Unless they are sealed and ducted to the actual air box all they are doing is pressurizing your engine bay and making your cooling system (radiator) perform like garbage.Īctually, it's worse than that. Which means I'd be parking a newly painted Miata with NA8 hard top, out on some public street. But the car needs to pass safety inspection yesterday, so I can get the title properly transferred, a clear registration in hand and Insurance done, or the property management that rules our lives may strangle from twisted panties. ![]() The bling TSIs probably will be sold off to a local stancer, as I'm far to educated in aerodynamics and heat flow (Unlike my gross ignorance on electronics) to use/respect any available TSI, and will be swapping in OEM turn lights most likely. Not the first amateur work I've discovered.Īnyone who actually knows the turn signal system wiring needs with LED turn bulbs, please help out? Do I just put in a resistor in line with the bulb? If so, how much? The socket is wired to the two colored wires, the black is cut, and left unsecured or covered. Leading to: Added issue is the SickSpeed bulb socket is a two wire light, whereas the OEM socket and bulb are 3 wire. Or if the system even will work properly with only a two wire socket. Opening a splice and sticking in a resistor is the easiest fix? But I have zero idea of how many Ohms. I'm guessing the side markers being on add enough load so the system functions normally enough for the front bulb to light? Rear turn signals light properly either way. If I hit the headlights or 'running lights', the turn signals work, but the system still blinks fast. The system blinks double speed, same as an incandescent bulb that is out. I get no front turn signal blink on either side with just the turn stalk control. ( ) You Know you have a quality part, when the price is <$11, and shipping is $60! Anyone here have experience with the parts? New-to-me '96 has what very much look to be the ebay SickSpeed TSIs, with their orange LED light.
